This book provides a practical, superbly illustrated guide to the
clinical diagnosis of eyelid tumors and the surgical procedures
used for tumor excision and eyelid reconstruction. In this completely
revised and updated Second Edition, there are new chapters on pathology
and radiosurgery, procedures have been amended to reflect current
practice, all the surgical illustrations have been redrawn in full
color, and selected clinical photographs have been added or replaced.
The first section of the book covers differential diagnosis and
features over 100 full color photographs of benign and malignant
eyelid tumors and inflammatory conditions, accompanied by concise
descriptions of the clinical presentation and the course of these
lesions. This section is designed to enable the clinician to distinguish
accurately lesions requiring biopsy and/or surgical removal from
those that should be treated medically or observed for changes.
In the second section, the author describes the surgical anatomy
of the eyelids and surrounding structures, and provides currently
accepted procedures for eyelid tumor biopsies, the most effective
techniques for tumor removal, and upper and lower lid reconstruction.
Key steps are illustrated by over 200 full color drawings and photographs.
With its emphasis on the more common conditions, and its clear,
user-friendly and practical approach, Eyelid Tumors is a
valuable source of reference for ophthalmic clinicians and surgeons,
plastic and reconstructive surgeons, dermatologists and pathologists.
